Transformers Comeback: Hasbro Looks to Activision as they 'misplaced' old games

Toy company Hasbro wants to revive old Cybertron games but Activision can't seem to locate them

A recent trend within the gaming community has been circulating for a while now. Games that we used to play as kids are featuring updated graphics and gameplay. Making us revisit our youthful era. From iconic franchises like Resident Evil, Dead Space, and the Last of Us. It's safe to say that these games coming back from the dead are a positive thing. Now, Hasbro, the most recognizable toy company, wants their games to be remastered as well. As a toy company, its not odd to want something that was most memorable to kids back in the day to be published again for us adults now. Especially, since those who missed out and didn't get to play.

First released back in 2010, the first iteration of the Cybertron series was Transformers: War for Cybertron which allowed players to play as their favourite robots in a third-person action thriller. After the game was well-received, in 2012, players got the sequel Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Another Transformers game: Rise of the Dark Spark, received some backlash as it tried to mimic the Cybertron gameplay and tied it in with the movie storyline. In 2018, all games were pulled from digital stores online and there has been anything like it till now.

In a recent interview with Transformers World 2005, Hasbro is planning to release a new set of Transformers toys based on the Cybertron figures. In order to further gardener attention for their launch, they asked Activision about the possibility of releasing remastered versions of the games. In addition, Hasbro is wishing that Activision merges with Xbox so both companies can dig through digital archives in hopes of acquiring their old games.
