Spider-Man 2 Trailer Showcased at Comic-Con International 2023, Venom embraces new look

 As we look forward to this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con 2023, fans can expect a wide range of exciting products coming from some of their favourite franchises. In 2018, fans were able to get a glimpse at the first iteration of Spider-Man for PS4. Which till this day, has been considered to be one of the most worthwhile games of all time. Now, five years later, fans are able to rejoice as we get a new story trailer featuring everyone's favourite Marvel villain, Venom. 

 

The trailer starts up with both Peter Parker and his childhood friend Harry Osborn, who from the previous game was known to have an incurable illness. We also know that Venom was attached to Harry and presumed to be on the verge of healing him as concluded by his father Norman. 

As the trailer goes on, we get to see more of Miles Morales and Peter Parker as they interact with each other. In this game, you are able to instantaneously switch from either Miles or Peter as mentioned by Developers. It can also be noted that the events in this game are 8-10 months after the playthrough of Miles Morales game. 

As spoken by Senior Narrative Director Jon Paquette, "At the beginning of our story, our Spider-Men are at the top of their game,” said Paquette. “But both Peter Parker and Miles Morales are struggling with their personal lives. Miles is trying to find time to write his college entrance essay, but he keeps procrastinating and focusing on Spider-Work instead. Meanwhile, Peter is underwater on payments for Aunt May’s house, but he can’t sell, it means too much to him. And just like Miles, Peter tries (and fails) to find balance with so many responsibilities. MJ wants to help Pete with the mortgage, but her job is on the line now that J. Jonah Jameson is back at the Bugle and looking to clean house. Our heroes have arrived at a confluence of crossroads, with uncertain futures, and some tough decisions ahead". 

When Kraven the Hunter, set his hunt up in New York, it is not evident to what exactly his intentions are or what he is hunting. As the story continues though, it seems that the symbiote that has a hold of Peter starts to sway him into the big-bad bully: Venom. 

The symbiote will allow players to experience new combat and experiment with different gadgets such as the Web Grabber. As for Miles, his Venom attack that was introduced in his own game has tremendously improved with two new forms. 

Miles is still suffering from the loss of his father as he confronts Martin Li as apparent in the trailer. The two seem to be teaming up or protecting something as an unknown foe enters into the scene. 

For players wanting to experience the full Spider-Man 2 adventure, Sony is releases a Deluxe bundle with an updated front cover featuring Venom and the Spider-Man logo. The game will be released on October 20 and fans can't wait to get their hands on another Game of the Year candidate.
