NEW FIRST-PERSON HORROR GAME SCARES AGAIN WITH NEW TRAILER
Digital Cybercherries' new bodycam horror game Paranormal Tales receives new trailer
Initially announced in October of 2022, Paranormal Tales wooed fans of the first-person horror genre with an impressive teaser of the game which included a visually terrifying environment and an eerie story. With such as positive outlook of the game, the developers at Digital Cybercherries launched a gameplay trailer showcasing the game's physics, interactable items, jump scares, and also one of the many scary ghouls you'll be facing.
Today developers have released, an extended trailer, with a more informative description about the game. Players will get the chance to experience the game through several different tales in which each have unique backstories and objectives. Also, players can expect to play from viewpoints of bodycams, phones, and handheld cameras.
Different from other games in the first-person genre, Paranormal Tales focuses on making the game as realistic as possible. Games such as the Outlast series has many different challenging components that add-on to the already existing horror experience. For example, players conserving batteries for their camera and navigating through the environment in order to survive. However, Paranormal Tales contains a series of viewpoints, stories, and challenges that haven't quite been offered by any others.
Currently, the game is in pre-alpha stages, and the team working on the game are improving the lighting, models, sounds, and textures under Unreal Engine 5. Players have also mentioned that the game's aim of hyper-realism can have negative effects such as motion sickness. Developers have responded by stating:
"We understand throwing up constantly due to motion sickness isn't very pleasant. That said we will implement options the player can select to help ease motion sickness.."
"We're excited to get further into development, and again, this is all a work in progress; much will improve and change!"
While the official release date has not been announced. Digital Cybercherries is hoping that the game will launch later this year on Steam.
